My Visit from the Jehova's Witnesses

Saturday, November 3, 2007, 07:06 PM EST [General]

Today I had quite the interesting experience.  I was outside sanding down an old dresser I came across that I'm intending to use for an alter/storage for my magical tools.  I jumped as a woman touched my arm and after turning off the sander, I realized there was an older woman and a younger woman standing there.  I knew they were there to sell something or invite me to one of the local small-town churches.

Once I saw the Awakening publication in the young woman's hand, I thought I was in for an hour long lecture on my beliefs.  The young woman rambled on about the Bible when I told her that I had quite an extensive knowledge about the Christian Bible, but that I was Wiccan.  She looked confused and asked me what that meant.  I didn't mean to laugh at her, but I though they were trained to deal with us "heathenistic pagans."

Surprisingly, the two women stood there for another five minutes, still handing me the publications, which I took out of respect, but then later threw away.  I have been taught that as a good Wiccan, I am to be patient and understanding of all, regardless of their beliefs.  I wonder though if they'll actually come back, especially since the older woman looked like she wanted to run away and never come back!  =)  Blessed Be!

All About Me and My Love for the Craft

Thursday, November 1, 2007, 09:41 AM EST [General]

Hello all my Wiccan and Pagan friends.  I am a 29 year old mother of five beautiful (though not always well-behaved) children.  I am also a full-time online college student, a part-time shipping clerk, and told that I'm crazy...but in the funny kind of way!

As for my love of the Craft, I have always been oddly drawn to Wicca and the paranormal.  I mean that quite literally, as I can remember looking at the "Occult" section of books at the school and public libarary from the time I could read.  I was taken to a Catholic church until I was 3 and then attended later in my teens and early 20's.  I also went to various Christian churches throughout my life and have a great deal of knowledge about the Bible and verses.  Yet, I've always found myself being called back to the Craft.

Though I had performed a self-initation around ten years ago, I re-dedicated myself to the Goddess and God on October 26, 2007.  Wicca is where I belong and where I will stay.  Blessed Be!
